Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often.

Staying at The Lodge

The Otter Lodge can accommodate up to 30 overnight guests. The lodge has eight bedrooms along with generous indoor and outdoor gathering spaces designed for families and groups traveling together.

Guests can enjoy the private pond, fishing and paddling, the firepit, lawn and outdoor recreation, as well as games and gathering spaces throughout the lodge. With 16 acres, there is plenty of room to relax, explore or simply spend time together.

Yes. The lodge is within an easy drive of state parks, lakes, skiing, waterparks, family attractions, restaurants, breweries and destinations such as Hawley. Our Explore page includes some of our favorite nearby places along with approximate drive times.

Weddings at The Otter Lodge

Wedding celebrations can accommodate up to 200 guests, while overnight accommodations are available for up to 30 guests.

No. Overnight lodging is reserved separately from wedding venue and package pricing. Wedding weekends require a two-night minimum lodging reservation.

We offer three levels of wedding experience:

Wildflowers provides maximum flexibility and is included with the venue fee.

Willows adds core furnishings, seating, lighting, setup and wedding-day support.

Wisteria builds on Willows with additional furnishings, comfort amenities, photo experiences and enhanced on-site support.

Yes. One of the things couples value most about The Otter Lodge is the flexibility to choose the caterer, bar service and other wedding professionals that fit their preferences and budget. We do not require couples to use an in-house catering team or choose exclusively from a limited preferred-vendor list.

Yes. Professional setup and teardown is provided for Otter Lodge furnishings and equipment included in your package or reserved directly through us. Couples and their guests are not responsible for moving, positioning or putting away our equipment.

No. Our ceremony and reception seating packages provide separate seating for both locations, so chairs do not need to be moved between the ceremony and reception.

Yes. Every wedding includes use of our rustic-elegant ceremony arch, giving couples a beautiful starting point that can be personalized for their wedding style.

Yes. Every couple receives a complimentary initial consultation with a wedding planner to help organize ideas, identify priorities and get the planning process moving in the right direction.

Yes. Electric and water connections are available throughout the outdoor event areas, giving couples and vendors additional flexibility when planning ceremony, reception and hospitality spaces.

Yes. Many furnishings, equipment and amenities may be reserved individually. Wildflowers weddings currently have a $400 combined Otter Lodge amenity/equipment minimum. Full options and pricing are available on the Packages & Pricing page.

Wedding weekends require:

a two-night minimum lodging reservation
event liability insurance
proof of insurance from all vendors
a signed venue agreement

Tours & Planning

Absolutely. Private wedding tours are available by appointment and generally take about 45–60 minutes. During your visit, we’ll walk the lodge and grounds, explore ceremony and reception possibilities, and talk through your guest count, priorities and questions.

No. In fact, the tour is a good opportunity to decide what level of support makes the most sense. If you have an approximate guest count, preferred date or season and a general idea of what matters most to you, we can help you begin putting the pieces together.
